The future looks extremely bright for Gabriel Espejo. At the age of 25, many players are still trying to find their way in Texan Base-Ball League.
Espejo has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Western Association Gentleman of Texas.
"I didn't expect to hit .348 this year, that's for sure," the left fielder said.
The Wichita Falls Yardmen star also put up a .375 on-base percentage this year, with 119 hits, 25 doubles, 5 triples, 5 home runs, 52 RBIs and 57 runs scored.
He received 12 first place votes out of a possible 16. Chris Sharpe of the Wichita Falls Yardmen finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Francisco Rivas of the Marfa Ghost Lights finished third.
