TLEA Top Skipper is Cruz of Galveston Thursday, August 23rd , 1888 A baseball manager's success usually depends on the talent of his club, but in the case of Diego Cruz, he seems to have taken the Galveston Gulls to a higher level and gotten his just due. He was named this season's Manager of the Year in the Eastern Association for leading the team to a very rewarding season. "Everyone on the team put in a lot of hard work this season," he told reporters. "It's always nice when it's acknowledged in some way." Cruz led Galveston to a first place finish in the Eastern Association Beaumont Circuit. The Gulls ended up with a 55-41 record. |
