Espejo Leads TLWA Hitters Thursday, July 26th , 1888 Nobody in the Western Association outhit Gabriel Espejo this season. It became official today with the close of the regular season that the talented Wichita Falls Yardmen left fielder was the best in the league. His .348 average put him at the top of the leaderboard and got him the TLWA batting title. Espejo's stats also included 119 hits, 25 doubles, 5 triples, 5 home runs, 52 RBIs and 57 runs. |
