June's Outstanding TLEA Rookie Announced Sunday, July 1st , 1888 He might be a rookie, but he is a player. Justin Olson of Beaumont certainly showed that this month with an outstanding 4-3 won-lost record and impressive 1.74 ERA. For that kind of performance Olson was named the Eastern Association Rookie of the Month. In June he started 7 games, tossed 62 innings, gave up 54 base hits, struck out 34 and walked 8. Opposing batters combined for a .219 average against him. This year Olson has posted a 11-13 mark in 24 starts and has a 2.42 ERA. |
