The performance of René Pacheco proved critical in helping Almendares beat Marianao, 10-7. The Alacranes center fielder went 3 for 5 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Alberto López was the winning pitcher. Over 8 innings, he allowed 7 runs on 11 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Nemesio Hinojos recorded the save, his 2nd.

Pacheco had a game-changing triple in the top of the sixth. On a first pitch splitter from Daniel Soto, he banged a 2-run triple to left, giving the Alacranes a 7-6 lead. It was the 3rd triple of the year for Pacheco.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Pacheco said.

With the win, Almendares goes to 32-39, while the Monjes Grises fall to 31-40.
