The Marianao Monjes Grises topped the Artemisa Rojos, 5-4, in Torneo del Occidente action at Campo de Marianao. The game was highlighted by the performance of Marianao pitcher Zenobio Rodríguez. Marianao is third in the Torneo del Occidente División de La Habana with a record of 28-33.

When he came to bat in the bottom of the 11th, Quilvio Cruz had a chance to be the hero. Artemisa pitcher Víctor Sánchez had other ideas. But with one out, Cruz grounded out, driving in 1 run. The Monjes Grises had themselves a dramatic win.

"It's a mindset," said Rodríguez. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
