Fans who congregated at Estadio de Guayama were treated to extra-inning drama.

In a high-scoring game between Aibonito and Guayama, third baseman Marco Medina was a difference-maker. The 35-year-old helped Aibonito grab the 17-10 win. He was 4-7 with 4 singles and a walk. He scored 4 times. Aibonito reliever Melchor López was credited with the win, to go to 5-1. José Sánchez took the loss for Guayama.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Benjamín Santos came to bat in the top of the 14th. Facing Guayama pitcher José Sánchez, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Aibonito on top, 11-10.

"Our team showed some gumption," said Medina. "I like it."

The first-place Polluelos go to 72-56.
