Roger Primmer impressed in the 15-8 Amarillo win over El Paso. Primmer, who led the WTXA in wins above replacement with 3.6 in 1894, went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The Horizons raised their record to 11-11.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when second baseman Thomas Suddarth, who is tied for 8th in the WTXA in bases on balls with 11, hit a run-scoring single. The Horizons went on to win.

Suddarth expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
