The Marianao Monjes Grises defeated the Matanzas Henequeneros, 8-2, at Campo de los Henequeneros today. Leading the charge for Marianao was shortstop Bolívar Jiménez. He went 4-5 with 2 triples and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. The win gives Marianao a record of 3-3.
With Marianao leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Jiménez hit a sinker from Ken Martin for a run-scoring triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Monjes Grises ahead, 2-0.
