Sault Ste. Marie picked up a win at North Stars Park, toppling the Thessalon North Stars, 4-3. Pitcher Edmond Treitz was one of the reasons the Rapids triumphed. The Rapids are now 69-44, while the North Stars fall to 51-62.

Sault Ste. Marie used the timely hitting of Bill McIntyre to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rapids on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," Treitz said in postgame remarks. "Soon enough, the finish line will be in sight."
