Meteors Knock Off North Stars at North Stars Park
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Sudbury Meteors and the Thessalon North Stars, pitcher Geoff McAfee was the difference between victory and defeat. The Sudbury right-hander earned accolades in the 3-1 Meteors win. The Meteors now own a record of 48-51.
In the top of the eighth, with Sudbury leading 2-1, Rob Huston hit a fastball from Bryan Mrazek for a run-scoring single, giving the Meteors the lead, 3-1.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Thessalon skipper Arthur Irwin, "and it cost us."
