Wheelwrights Sneak By North Stars, 10-9
The Markham Wheelwrights did just enough to sneak past the Thessalon North Stars, 10-9, at Markham Stadium. Markham third baseman Juan Álvarez, in particular, had a standout performance. Will Leighton earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He upped his record to 3-0. Sean Gallant picked up the save, his 3rd.

Markham took a 9-8 lead on Matt Duder's 23rd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Duder hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Thessalon pitcher Winn Burns visibly frustrated.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Martín de Anda said.

Markham has a record of 38-59, placing them last in the Ontario Baseball Association Southern Division.
