Recovery Slow for Artists Eric Van der Heyden Wednesday, August 11th , 1897 Yesterday Taos third baseman Eric Van der Heyden sustained a setback in his recovery from a knee sprain. The Artists medical staff told him it would be at least one week before he will be able to return to action. Van der Heyden told reporters, "The healing process has gone extremely well. This is just a little hiccup and a little setback." Apparently Van der Heyden worked a little too hard in a recent workout and caused more damage. His doctors have advised him to do only light exercise and give the injury time to heal. Currently Van der Heyden is batting .294 with 4 home runs, 54 RBIs and 44 runs scored. |
