Connelly Goes 5-for-5 Friday, August 6th , 1897 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Ed Connelly today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Los Lunas Grounds and paced the Werewolves to a 7-4 win over the Taos Artists. After his dynamite batting performance, the Los Lunas third baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Ed Connelly singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. Connelly is currently batting .291 with no home runs and 40 RBIs.
