OBA Awards Best Batter Prize to Ryall Monday, August 16th , 1897 Troy Ryall of the Sault Ste. Marie Rapids put the wraps on a fantastic week of play by being named the Ontario Baseball Association Player of the Week. The hot-hitting second baseman was a bonafide batting machine as he racked up 16 hits in 27 at-bats, no home runs, .593 BA, 4 RBIs, 10 runs, 2 walks and a .621 OBP. Thus far this season Ryall has hit .355 with 1 home run, 73 RBIs and scored 101 times. |
