Montero Sparkles in 1-0 Shutout Saturday, September 18th , 1897 Leandro Montero was in a mood to talk following the Bangor Bishops contest against the Wrexham Druids, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Druids, 1-0. "There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Montero said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again." The left-hander blanked Wrexham on a 2-hitter, allowing 1 walk and racking up 7 strikeouts.
