Olvera Guns Down Vikings Friday, September 10th , 1897 Servio Olvera spun his magic in a 1-0 shutout victory at Dublin Grounds today, leading the Derry Maidens to victory, 1-0 over the Dublin Vikings. The Derry pitcher put quite a spell on Dublin in a strong performance, allowing 9 hits while totaling 6 walks and 6 strikeouts. "I had a lot of good things working in this one," Olvera said. "I worked both sides of the plate. I was rarely behind in the count." Olvera has started 37 times this year, pitched 314.1 innings, fanned 180 batters and walked 122.
