Lubbock, Holt Close to Deal? Sunday, November 14th , 1897 Brendon Holt sent shock waves through the press corps when he spoke complimentarily of the Layabouts this afternoon. Saying that the team "takes care of its players," Holt dropped the bombshell that he could see himself playing in a Layabouts uniform and that if he were offered a good deal, he would have to really think about it before turning it down. |
