WTXA Selects Rookie of the Month Friday, October 1st , 1897 Youngster Rogelio Hernández emerged as the latest Association of Western Texas Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Wichita Falls deserved the honor, batting .408 with 1 home run and 19 runs batted in. Is the month of September a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Hernández enjoy the limelight. Thus far this season Hernández is hitting .348 with 1 home run, 47 RBIs and 37 runs scored. He has 108 hits in 310 at-bats and has played in 77 games. |
