Galveston Shut Out by Colón Sunday, September 12th , 1897 Dacio Colón really had his stuff working at Gulls Park today. The Beaumont Alpinists hurler mystified the Galveston Gulls and shut them out 10-0. Colón allowed a total of 2 hits in the ballgame and struck out 5. "The shutout is nice but I'm just happy we won," Colón said with a smile after the game. "Coach can be a real bear when we lose."
