Alfaro Pitches Gem as Alpinists Beat Tyler, 6-0 Sunday, September 5th , 1897 Andrónico Alfaro blitzed the Tyler Pecan Kings at Alpinists Park today, pitching the Beaumont Alpinists to victory, 6-0. Alfaro needed 9 innings to shut out the Pecan Kings, striking out 2. "I knew he had it in him, but it's still nice to see him put it all together," said Beaumont manager Apolonio Alfonso.
