Hernández Bashes 5 Base Hits Saturday, August 28th , 1897 There are moments in a player's career that they will not soon forget. Horacio Hernández of the New Braunfels Yodelers had one such moment at Yodelers Field today, when he went 5 for 5 at the plate. His hitting heroics weren't enough to pull out the victory, however, and New Braunfels fell to a 10-7 defeat to the San Marcos Cadavers. "This was quite a day for me individually, but a little disheartening at the same time," the 33-year-old first baseman told reporters in the postgame interview. "It would have been very special if we had won the game." Horacio Hernández singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
