Herrick Holds Mammoths Scoreless
Thursday, August 26th , 1897
Nacogdoches Roaches hurler Camden Herrick was stingy with runs in his latest outing against the Waco Mammoths, shutting them out 9-0 on 4 hits.
"Camden was very aggressive tonight," Nacogdoches manager Joe Moffet said. "He threw everything he had with a lot of confidence."
Through 9 innings, Herrick tallied 4 strikeouts and allowed 1 walk.
"He was throwing strikes with all his pitches and mixing it up well," losing manager Howard Wall said. "Herrick has a sneaky fastball, and whatever that off-speed pitch was, it was keeping our timing off."
Herrick has fashioned a 13-7 mark for the season, 3.59 ERA and thrown 195.2 innings in 24 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .239 against him.
