Taos Sweeps into the Campeonato de Circuito Monday, July 30th , 1888 The Taos Artists proved to be too much to handle for the Tempe Olympians in the Serie Interdivisional, and a sweep was the end result. Taos punched its ticket to the Campeonato de Circuito on the strength of a 5-4 win in the deciding game, which wrapped up the series 3-0. Taos left fielder Laureano Mata, named series MVP, was instrumental in the sweep, as he mashed Tempe pitching to the tune of a .500 average, with a .600 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Taos Artists don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Santa Fe Hollyhocks - Prescott Lynx series.
