Playoffs Won't Happen for Capitanes Thursday, October 1st , 1885 The hopes of lifting a championship trophy in Mayaguez this year have now vanished. The Mayaguez Capitanes have been eliminated from postseason contention. "I'm not happy but I'm trying to come to terms with it," starting pitcher Sebastián Reyes said. Before this season, the Capitanes last missed the playoffs in 1882. In the 15 years they have been a Liga Nacional Puertorriquena franchise, they have missed the playoffs 10 times. |
