Isabela Advances to Campeonato Nacional Puertorriqueño Thursday, November 18th , 1897 The Isabela Gallitos have beaten the Rincon Ingenieros and will advance to the Campeonato Nacional Puertorriqueño. Isabela won the final game by a 8-2 count to take the series 4-2. The Gallitos triumph was no doubt in large part because of the performance of first baseman Quinto López, who was named MVP of the series. "The only thing that matters is that we're off to the next round and one step closer to a Campeonato Nacional Puertorriqueño," he said. The Isabela Gallitos don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Arroyo Bucaneros - Salinas Pescadores series. Arroyo leads the series 3 games to 2.
