Ingenieros Heading to Campeonato de las Ligas Monday, November 8th , 1897 The excitement in Rincon is palpable as the local club has advanced through the Serie Interdivisional. The Rincon Ingenieros downed the Mayaguez Capitanes 12-3 tonight at Campo de Rincón, to take the series 4-2. "Things are going to get crazy in Rincon for the Campeonato de las Ligas. The fans are going to be behind us 100 percent, we know that," said Leovigildo Sánchez, who earned MVP honors. "There's a lot of motivation in our clubhouse right now to make sure we give them something to cheer about." For the series, Sánchez hit .458 with a .480 on-base percentage. He had 11 hits, 0 home runs, 7 RBI and scored 5 runs. The Rincon Ingenieros will play against the Isabela Gallitos in the next round. Isabela won their series against the San Lorenzo Samaritanos 4 games to 0. The Campeonato de las Ligas schedule will be announced after the Serie Interdivisional finishes.
