Ismael Carranza Calls it a Career
Friday, November 5th , 1897
Adjuntas Santos first baseman Ismael Carranza will retire at the end of the season, according to reports out of team headquarters. Carranza, 38, has been considering retirement since last season sources say, though he has declined to speak publicly about retirement.
"Ismael still likes baseball," one source said, "He wants to play, but he also knows he's getting up in age and the skills are not what he wants them to be. He says it's physically getting harder to go out there every day. That's why he's hanging up his spikes."
His career numbers show Carranza is batting .300 with a total of 29 home runs.
