Guanica Takes Serie Preliminar in Deciding Game Saturday, October 23rd , 1897 Parque de Guánica played host to the climax of an exciting Serie Preliminar tonight. The Guanica Amigos and Humacao Grises battled hard throughout the whole series, for the chance to move on to the Serie Eliminatoria. In the end, Guanica won the final game by a score of 6-3 and took the series 3-2. "I think fans got their money's worth in this series. It was just great baseball all the way around," said Amigos starting pitcher Adelio Sigala, who earned the nod as series MVP. "Guanica fans especially, I'm sure they're all worked up right now." For the series, Sigala had a 1.93 ERA over 28 innings pitched. He added 3 strikeouts with a 3-0 record. The Guanica Amigos will play against the Rincon Ingenieros in the next round. Rincon won their series against the Bayamon Vaqueros 3 games to 1. The Serie Eliminatoria schedule will be announced after the Serie Preliminar finishes.
