Ingenieros Heading to Serie Eliminatoria Thursday, October 21st , 1897 Pablo Brito said he didn't even realize how well he had been playing in the Serie Preliminar until he was shown his own statistics. The Rincon Ingenieros shortstop put up a .421 average with 0 home runs, 4 RBI and 2 runs scored, enough to earn him series MVP honors. It all added up to his Ingenieros advancing to the Serie Eliminatoria, with a 3-1 series win over the Bayamon Vaqueros. "I didn't really pay attention to the numbers or my stats at all as we went along," he said. "I'm just so focused on trying to help the team win, that's it." The series victory had become official with a 4-3 triumph at Campo de los Vaqueros. Even if Brito is not paying close attention to his stats, the rest of baseball certainly will be keeping an eye on him as the playoffs continue. "I like to be under pressure and think I respond well to it," he said. The Rincon Ingenieros don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Humacao Grises - Guanica Amigos series. Guanica leads the series 2 games to 1. The Serie Eliminatoria schedule will be announced after the Serie Preliminar finishes.
