Hit Streak Now at 31 for Carlos Thursday, October 7th , 1897 Chalk up another one for Quebradillas Piratas left fielder Juan Carlos. He now has hit in 31 straight games. Carlos went 2-for-4 today's game at Estadio de Guayama but saw his club defeated 3-2 by the host Guayama Brujos. "Playing on the road always makes it harder to get hits and to get wins," Piratas manager Jerónimo Grimaldo said after the game. "We got one of the two, but unfortunately it was the wrong one." Juan Carlos flied out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, walked in the 8th and singled in the 9th. This season Carlos has hit 6 home runs and posted a .389 batting average. |
