Garza Shuts Out Patriotas, 1-0 Monday, October 4th , 1897 Naguabo Navegadores hurler Leví Garza was stingy with runs in his latest outing against the Lares Patriotas, shutting them out 1-0 on 7 hits. "Leví was very aggressive tonight," Naguabo manager Jesús Guerrero said. "He threw everything he had with a lot of confidence." Through 10 innings, Garza tallied 3 strikeouts and allowed 2 walks. "He was throwing strikes with all his pitches and mixing it up well," losing manager Gilberto Mejía said. "Garza has a sneaky fastball, and whatever that off-speed pitch was, it was keeping our timing off." This year Garza has compiled a 18-24 record with a 4.29 ERA in 44 starts.
