González Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games Saturday, October 2nd , 1897 The hitting streak for Gurabo left fielder Marcos González now stands at 20 games, but the Tainos dropped today's contest 8-4 to the Sabana Grande Petateros. González went 2-for-5 in the game. "Things went well for me personally today," he said later. "I got 2 hits and the streak keeps going. But we didn't win the game." Marcos González singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. Thus far in 1897 González is hitting .351 with 5 home runs, 102 RBIs, 89 runs scored and has compiled a .452 OBP. |
