Vásquez's Hit Streak Reaches 20 Games Sunday, September 12th , 1897 Etelfrido Vásquez has been ripping hits every day for a while now, and nobody seems able to stop him. The Isabela second baseman picked up 2 more today against the Toa Baja Llaneros and now has a 20-game hitting streak. The Gallitos won the game 5-2. "Definitely somebody's going to stop me at some point," he said later, chuckling. "I'll enjoy it for the time being." Etelfrido Vásquez singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, was hit by a pitch in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. Presently Vásquez is hitting .330 with 2 home runs and 44 RBIs.
