Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Colón Sunday, September 5th , 1897 Chalk up another one for Aguadilla Tiburones second baseman Braulio Colón. He now has hit in 20 straight games. Colón went 1-for-5 today's game at Jardines de Guaynabo but saw his club defeated 6-3 by the host Guaynabo Conquistadores. "Playing on the road always makes it harder to get hits and to get wins," Tiburones manager Adonis Oropeza said after the game. "We got one of the two, but unfortunately it was the wrong one." Braulio Colón flied out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. This year Colón is hitting .306 with 1 home run and 61 RBIs in 107 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .360 with 33 walks and 61 runs scored. |
