Coamo Halts Camacho's Hitting Steak Thursday, August 26th , 1897 The streak has been snapped. Eusebio Camacho failed to get a hit in today's game against the Coamo Maratonistas, bringing his 23-game hitting spree to an end. The 33-year-old Yauco third baseman was 0-for-3, but the Corsos got the win and defeated the Maratonistas 6-4. "I'm not disappointed at all -- I had a great run," Camacho said. "I got to 23 games. I got my name into an elite group with a bunch of good ballplayers. What's there to complain about?" This season Camacho has hit 5 home runs and posted a .367 batting average. |
