Stahl Voted August's Top NL Rookie Wednesday, September 1st , 1897 Chick Stahl is still a bit shy, but then, who could blame the newest National League Rookie of the Month honoree? He hasn't been around the league long enough to fully know the ropes yet, despite the fact that he's putting up veteran-like numbers. In August the Boston hitter tagged opposing pitching for a .331 average with 40 hits, 2 home runs and 22 RBIs. So far this season Stahl has gotten 188 hits in 546 at-bats for a .344 batting average with 4 home runs. His stats include 84 RBIs and 76 runs scored. He has played in 138 games. |
