Cincinnati Shuts Out Philadelphia, 6-0 Sunday, August 29th , 1897 Bill Paquet blitzed the Philadelphia Phillies at National League Park 1895-1909 today, pitching the Cincinnati Reds to victory, 6-0. Paquet needed 9 innings to shut out the Phillies, striking out 1. "I knew he had it in him, but it's still nice to see him put it all together," said Cincinnati manager Ned Connor.
