Samalayuca Comes up Empty Against Aguilar
|
Wilson Aguilar of the Ciudad Juarez Nortenos was on fire against the Samalayuca Enjambre at Nortenos Park today. He shut them out 1-0 on 8 hits, collecting 3 strikeouts and allowing 2 walks.
"The first two pitches I'm looking for an out, a ground ball or a fly ball," Aguilar said later. "I'm trying to get quick outs. I've never been a big believer in trying to strike a guy out from the very first pitch. It's too easy to end up behind in the count doing that."
This season Aguilar has compiled a 17-17 record with a 2.75 ERA in 39 starts.
