Olympians Snatch Late Win
Tempe starter Adam Dixon had a strong outing against the Tucson Highwaymen at Tempe Stadium. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 2-1 win. Tempe, at 51-26, occupies first place in the Border League Arizona Circuit.

In the bottom of the ninth, with no one out and the game tied, 1-1, pinch hitter Joe Rexford won it for Tempe. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Rexford hit a first pitch slider from Nazir Cornell for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 2-1 win.

"Enjoyed this one," Rexford told the Tempe Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
