The Tempe Olympians got a magnificent performance from pitcher Adam Dixon, who muffled the Phoenix offense en route to a tight 2-1 Olympians win at Tempe Stadium. Tempe reliever Mike Songer picked up the win to move to 3-2. Kelvin Foreman suffered the loss. The Olympians, at 49-25, sit in first place in the Border League Arizona Circuit.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Tempe third baseman Carlos Baquerizo, facing Kelvin Foreman, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Olympians the 2-1 win.

"That's baseball," said Phoenix manager Zósimo Carrillo. "You're not always going to be hitting on all cylinders."
