Carboneros Earn 2-1 Win Versus Galanes
|
Starting pitcher Danny Castillo did his part in helping the Piedras Negras Carboneros thwart the Ciudad Acuna Galanes, 2-1. Castillo, now 10-7, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The misery continues for the Galanes, which has now dropped 10 in a row.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Piedras Negras third baseman Tarasio Lovato, facing Callum McDonald, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Carboneros the 2-1 win.
"We'll keep riding this wave as long as we can," said Carboneros manager Kyle Hyrkas.
