The Piedras Negras Carboneros racked up a win at Carboneros Ballpark, bumping off the Nuevo Laredo Colibris, 3-2. Danny Castillo, who started for Piedras Negras, pitched effectively for his team. The Carboneros raised their record to 34-25.

Piedras Negras took a 3-2 lead on Telesforo García's 8th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which García hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Nuevo Laredo pitcher Jesús Ramírez shaking his head.

García told a Piedras Negras Herald reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
