Hollyhocks Rally to Eke Out Win
The Santa Fe Hollyhocks defeated the Albuquerque Dukes, 5-4, at Dukes Field. John Whaley was a standout performer for Santa Fe. His 4 hits included 1 single and 3 doubles, in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 2 he knocked in. Matt Francis earned the win to go to 5-11. He allowed 4 runs on 10 hits, with 5 walks and 4 strikeouts in 10 innings of work. Even with the win, the Hollyhocks have a dismal 18-35 record.

Santa Fe used the timely hitting of Rick Bayman to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Hollyhocks on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
