Ramírez Puts Spell on Piedras Negras
The Piedras Negras Carboneros struggled at the plate today against Colibris hurler Jesús Ramírez, who shackled them on 5 hits while hurling a complete game 2-0 shutout.

"What can you say? We didn't hit well," said Carboneros skipper Kyle Hyrkas in postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow."

Ramírez finished the game with 3 strikeouts and 2 walks in an excellent mound performance.

"He pitched real well," Nuevo Laredo manager Matthew Goforth said. "Jesús made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."
