The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.

Behind a solid performance from left fielder Brian Young, the Prescott Lynx defeated the Phoenix Gila Monsters, 7-6. Young went 4-6 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Lynx. Prescott reliever Gelasio Mérida was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Stephen Shapiro took the loss.

Prescott relied on the hitting of Nick King to pick up the win. The right fielder ripped a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Lynx on top, 7-6. For the game, King had 1 triple and 2 singles in 6 at-bats.

"I get a nice buzz from a win like this one," said King.

The Lynx have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 4th win in 13 games.
