The Piedras Negras Carboneros did little to support starter Sílvano Flores against the Ciudad Acuna Galanes, but it turned out he didn't need the help.

The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Galanes, striking out 4 and surrendering 5 hits. The performance from Flores allowed Piedras Negras to escape with the 1-0 win despite an anemic offense.

"Nobody came to me and said 'Sílvano, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Flores told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."
