The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.

The Taos Artists bested the Santa Fe Hollyhocks by a score of 9-4, with center fielder Stephen Thompson getting the main credit. On the day, Thompson was 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Artists. The loss puts Santa Fe at 1-4.

Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at Artists Grounds seemed to enjoy watching the Border League action.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Thompson.
