Moca got a big-time effort from pitcher Alberto Echeverría, but it wasn't enough to keep the Lares Patriotas from winning the game, 7-5. Echeverría threw 8.2 innings of 7-hit ball for the losing team. Federico Florez, the winning pitcher, improved to 17-26. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 9 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 7. At 63-75, the Patriotas claim third place in the Liga Betances Cordillera Oeste.

Runs were scarce in this one. So, Mateo Márquez's at-bat in the top of the ninth was vitally important. With one out, the Lares pinch hitter reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run, to give his team a 3-2 lead.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Márquez.
