Las Marias pitcher Julio Ruiz did his part in helping his team beat the Camuy Murcielagos, 8-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The Citricos saw their record improve to 86-50.
The Citricos got a big hit from third baseman Jaime Pérez. In the top of the sixth, Pérez pounded a 2-run double to left. His 15th double of the season put the Citricos ahead, 6-2.
"I expect to pitch a complete game every time out," said Ruiz.
